Dr. Kara Carroll received her Bachelor of Science in both Zoology and Animal Sciences from the University of Florida in 2004, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After graduation, she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Specialties of Northern Colorado in Loveland, Colorado. She then went on to practice as a small animal family practitioner at practices all over the country, including Colorado, New York, Oregon, Florida, and California.
Dr. Carroll’s interest in animal acupuncture was sparked after receiving acupuncture herself. With the success that acupuncture provided in her own life, she was inspired to learn how eastern and western medical therapies can complement each other to provide even better comfort and care for all animals. She became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) from the Chi Institute in 2015.
Dr. Carroll is originally from the Tampa Bay area of Florida, but feels so lucky to call Palos Verdes her home. She is an avid gardener, novice bird watcher, bee fanatic, and enjoys the wonderful hikes and parks of PV with her two daughters, loving husband, and two crazy German Shepherds, Coco and Max.
